Parkes Hire Comes to the Aid of Foyle Search and Rescue

When Foyle Search and Rescue needed lighting for their charity fundraising event on the banks of the Foyle, they turned to Parkes Hire. The charity Zip-Line event on the 13 November 2010 created so much support that it could not possibly be completed during the hours of daylight. The company provided two VT1 Tower Lights to illuminate the 1300ft rope which extend across the River Foyle; this allowed the event to run well into the evening providing much needed additional funds for this very worthy charity.

Parkes Hire has the largest range of portable offices, steel lockable stores and containers in the North-West. On occasions units are hired to very unusual locations. Tory Island, just off the Donegal coast was the location of this particular photograph taken by a passing yacht’s man. The cabin in question was hired to a customer working on the island who subsequently bought the unit approximately 10 years ago. As you can see, the corrosive property of the sea air has devastated the unit.

Parkes Hire Provides Aerial Platforms for Derry's New Peace Bridge

As the city awaits the arrival of the New Peace Bridge, Parkes hire has been providing Scissor and Boom Platforms for the final preparation work currently underway at Lisahally. The bridge will be constructed from a number of sections shipped from Wales to Belfast and then by road to Londonderry. The company has provided Powered Access for the final fabrication, painting and light fitting work on the decking of each of the spans.

Stump Grinders Now Available for Hire

We have just added Tree Stump Grinders to our hire fleet. These machines will grind tree stumps and surface roots to well below ground level. Unwanted tree stumps can now be removed with a minimum of ground disturbance, eliminating the use of digging, burning or chemical treatment.
